The Rules

Registration and Application

• You can register using whatever screen name you want as long as you change it to your character's name in lowercase as directed by the graphic on the main page header.
  
• There is no limit to the number of characters you create as long as you can keep up with it.
  
• Try to keep some variety with multiple characters, though.
  
• Post your application in the correct place and pay attention to the information on where and how to post your applications.
  
• You have a week from the day of posting to complete your application.
  
• All application subjects must read like the following: "LAST, First Middle" though "LAST, first middle" will be accepted as well.

Characters

• The ages of the characters will be around as follows: teachers/staff, 25+; heads of house/deputy head, 35+; headmaster/mistress, 45+; auorors/healers, 21+; anything-in-training, 18+; seventh years, 17-18; sixth years, 16-17; fifth years, 15-16; fourth years, 14-15; third years, 13-14; second years, 12-13; first years, 11-12.
  
• Let's try to keep the boy/girl ratio pretty even, people.
  
• Give us some variety with personalities and physical characteristics. I don't want a bunch of little clones running around.
  
• You must PM the admin first before you can have: a pregnant character, twin characters, or have a character commit suicide/die.
  
• Try to choose a play-by that resembles the age of your character. I don't want to see Johnny Depp as a fifth year (unless you're willing to only use older photos where he looks young enough, and then you must pm me first).
  
• Don't get mad if someone has already taken your wanted face claim. If you need help finding another, leave a shout in the C-Box or PM someone.
  
• You must talk to the admin before having a character with any personality or mental disorders as well.
  
• Not everyone is going to be an animagus or metamorphagus or a seer, so let's try to keep those as rare as we should be. That's what the sign up sheets are for.

Posting

• Our site requires a minimum of 300 words per post. Period. If it takes you a bit longer to come up with that much, fine, but at least hit minimum word count.
  
• Posts must be made in the third person, past tense. Meaning your post should read like: "He wandered down the hall with his hands shoved into his pockets."
  
• Posts should not break the pg-13 rating.
  
• No Godmodding. Don't know what that is? Check out Caution 2.0 and read up on it.
  
• Need help flushing out your post a bit more? Once again, Caution is a great place for that.

General

• Respect everyone, period. If you don't respect people, there will be a huge issue. You may not agree with everyone, but that's no reason to disrespect them.
  
• Listen to the staff members and be courteous with them. They have a lot to do to make the site work for you.
  
• Never use the words "fag", "nigger", or "dyke" in my c-box. The only exception for those is if you're using "fag" to mean a cigarette, or the correct term for a dyke.
  
• Be patient. If you're not patient with the staff, or while waiting for a reply with someone, you might end up upsetting someone, which is not something any of us want. So, if you find yourself waiting, talk to people in the c-box or start/play a forum game, think of plots, plot with a character you wouldn't have, do something, but don't nag.
  
• Do not fight in my C-Box. If you're going to fight with someone, keep it to PM or MSN or something else, but not my C-Box.
  
• Do not judge or get mad at any member for what a character did. I trust you're all mature enough to draw a line between the two.
  
• You must be 13 to join the site. Sorry, kiddos, it's Proboards rules.
  
• This is a pg-13 site, which means: moderate swearing, violence, sexual content are allowed as long as it is not graphic. Anything graphic needs to be done elsewhere.
  
• You may only post in the OOC sections and the c-box until you have been accepted.

Graphics

• No graphic may exceed 500 pix in width. Period.
  
• No nudity or drugs are allowed in any graphics.
  
• No excessive language, though moderate swearing is fine.
  
• Basically make sure it falls under the pg-13 guideline.
  
• Signatures may be up to 500 pix tall and 500 pix wide.
  
• Icons must be 150x200 pix.
  
• Yes, this site has a function that automatically resizes overly large graphics to 500pix wide, (_{code words: mischief managed}) but do not rely on it. It slows down people with slower connections.
  
• If you don't own a program to resize your graphics, use photobucket or tinypic, both have editing options that allow you to do so, and they're free, or you can put up a request in the OOC section.
